Welcome back to the Ultimate Beach House tour. In case you missed Part I click here. This post covers the upstairs—for a house that sleeps 20 IN BEDS it takes me at least two posts just to cover the inside. We enjoyed this house so much! We got there when it opened at 1:00—like I said it was raining so we planned a day out—eating lunch along the way at the Seagrove Beach Market, and stayed until 4:00! No kidding—time flies when you’re seeing good design.
If you’re liking the design as much as I do you might be interested in who did it. Urban Grace Interiors—wow.
So, here’s the floor plan for the upstairs…
At the top of the stairs is the gameroom with a ping pong table and big TV. I wish I could scoot the TV a little to the right, it’s blocking that picture.
The color of the leather ottoman didn’t come out well in my photo—it’s a shocking baby blue—looks great in this room.
this TV console is to die for…
don’t you love this niche? look carefully at the wall—plaster finished out in curves and angles. There were so many details like this I couldn’t process all of them—even in three hours.
However, there is one detail I don’t care for—the modern toilets. They remind me of something out of a camper or maybe an outhouse. I hope this style doesn’t catch on. Our booties aren’t square so why should a toilet be square? What ever happened to form following function? Leave a comment if you have an opinion, please.
Something I did like is the variety of the vanities. They are all different, but all go so well in the house.
Love this bed…The gourd lamps mimic the knobby bedposts—details, details…
Next is the girl’s bunkroom—downstairs is the boys’ bunk room, but I didn’t get good pictures of it so…
Isn’t this cool, tucked away in the eaves?
Finally the media room…
Sleeps 6…comfortably.
Stay tuned for more from the Ultimate Beach House…I haven’t even gotten to the pool.
Later,
Patti

Trish Kalweit – Elizabeth You have managed to cautrpe the happiness of our family in your photographs. The session was so relaxed and working with you was a dream. It is so apparent that you love what you do it absolutely shines through in your work.
Maybe I’m feeling beach envy cranky. But seems to me everything inside a beach house need to focus on what’s outside. Nothing in a beach house should feel claustrophobic. But that’s how I feel from the pictures. The square toilet isn’t helping, not one bit.
Last weekend I did 2 Sunday open house, the Ansley Park house was spectacular but shouted inside, inside, inside. I wouldn’t want to go back. The Morningside house was was well done but way down the scale in size and finishes, yet it was all about seeing out. I felt much more comfortable there.
I am also not a fan of the square toilets!
I want to love the girls’ bunkroom, but it made me feel a little claustrophobic. I suppose kids wouldn’t care, but I feel like it needs a porthole or skylight. Anyway, I could totally picture the adults taking turns poking their heads around that green door, yelling variations on “You kids settle down now, go to sleep, I mean it!”
That’s so funny. There is a bunk room for boys on the first floor–guess someone was smart enough to try to separate the boys and the girls. Both bunk rooms have a regular bedroom with a private bath right across the hall. I imagined a nanny or couple of parents being assigned to keep an eye or maybe ear on things–and you’re right, sticking their head in and yelling.
Patti — Not sure how I feel about those toilets. Different. Clean lines. I’d have to test drive one.
So, the theater seats recline to become beds? Or were you joking?
Looking forward to seeing what the exterior looks like. Thanks so much!
Hey Barbara,
The theater seats were so comfy I’d probably go to sleep before the movie even got started. When I saw that room I just imagined people who were supposed to be watching a movie falling asleep and napping through the whole thing.
Beautiful…love Rosemary Beach!…they certainly made great use of the space!!
Have a great weekend!
