New city councilor sworn in in konigsberg

The SPD faction in the konigsberg city council now consists of three women (eva rugheimer, gabriele blank-henk, anita koch-eckert) and one man (eddi klug). Which prompted one city council member to remark that the SPD had even exceeded its women's quota.

The new appointments also mean a change in the composition of the administration and environment and construction committees. Koch-eckert takes over gabriel blank-henk's seat on the administration committee. Blank-henk moves to vacant seat on environment and building committee.

The city council quickly ticked off the other items on the agenda: head of the business unit johannes mucke (city administration) informed the committee on the development of the waste water in the city's water supply that it had been possible to reduce the losses even further. Water loss, which was 9.57 percent in 2011, was reduced to 5.34 percent in 2012. Water is lost in the supply systems mainly due to leaking pipes or burst pipes.

Regarding the woodchip heating system that konigsberg put into operation last year at the indoor swimming pool (for several buildings), stubenrauch reported that exactly 1344 cubic meters of woodchips were burned in 2012. This is equivalent to 107,520 liters of heating oil (which have been saved).
