For many years now, the city and district savings bank of erlangen, hochstadt, and herzogenaurach has used the christmas season to provide financial support to church, charitable, and social institutions, as well as associations and institutions in the fields of sports, art, culture, education, and the environment. This year, too, the sparkasse is supporting around 1,000 institutions and associations in the region with a total of around 1.5 million euros, according to the bank.
Johannes von hebel, chairman of the board, and his board colleagues reinhard lugschi and walter paulus-rohmer handed over the donations in digital form to the associations and facilities in the business area in the presence of district administrator alexander tritthart , oberburg mayor florian janik and burgermeister german hacker in nagels hofladen. The event was framed by the "sparkasse-christkind 2021"; that is johanna gotz.
The top performers of the action week for the "second christmas donation" were announced at the occasion. The most successful clubs and institutions were guests at the christmas party and were presented in short interviews.
During the donation action week every single donation up to 100 euro was additionally increased by the savings bank according to a percentage key. So, the more donations received, the more the sparkasse has added. A total of 60,000 euros was available for this project.
In addition, the one-million-euro mark for the total volume of donations on the donation portal of the stadt- und kreissparkasse erlangen, hochstadt, herzogenaurach was broken. This was achieved by the association "arche-bauernhof-erlangen-stadt-und-land".
A total of over 110,000 euros was collected during the campaign week from around 1,500 private donors for 180 participating projects. To ensure that as many donors as possible heard about the campaign week, the clubs were asked to advertise their projects. The best and most original advertising ideas received additional cash prizes.
