The tsh-“oldies” land two clear victories
It was two obligatory tasks in the season's final spurt, which the old men's handball players of the gymnastics club herzogenaurach (TSH) had to solve on sunday. Against the senior teams from erlangen/niederlindach and frauenaurach, the squad around player-coach christof koch achieved two commanding and clear victories. Thus, the herzogenaurach team overtook its direct rival TV erlangen/bruck and is now at the top of the table. A colorful mix of handball veterans from herzogenaurach and players from the second men's team took on the title fight in their own hall.
Ten goals conceded in two games
That the team from schuhstadt is not the absolute championship favorite for nothing was impressively demonstrated by koch and his team in the first game against hsg erlangen/niederlindach. Especially keeper martin manz literally nailed his home and thus repeatedly initiated direct counterattacks of his front men. After half an hour, the whistle blew for the game against the last team in the table at a score of 13:5.
The second tournament match of the herzogenaurach team was also decided early on. The second last from frauenaurach was dominated at will and finally defeated 15:5.
Aurach thus finished the fifth tournament of the district league with a goal ratio of 28:10 and are now two points ahead of the pursuers from buckenhofen and bruck, who are tied on points.
